About 1 hour by car from Brisbane city center you’ll find Australia Zoo. It is not a regular Zoo but home of the Crocodile hunter Steve Irwin. His parents founded the Zoo and now his wife and kids is in charge. I’m sure we all miss Steve for his wonderful animal tv, he was a highlight and full of passion.
When you stand near the entrance you’ll straight away feel the passion and energy from Steve with the fantastisk pictures. Entrance is 59 dollars for an adult and 99 dollars for a yearly pass, it you can’t get enough!
The Zoo is beautiful and there is a lot of room and nature for the animals. The best part is seeing all the different animals and even get close to them. My favorite part is patting the Kangoroos and feeding them, I get all warm and cuddly inside and feel a lot of joy. The koala’s are also very cute and it is possible to pet them on the back while the eat or sleep. The bird area is also awesome with a walk through where you can look and experience them up close.
There are differnt themes in the zoo: Africa, south east Asia, cocrodile area of course. One other highlight is the big show at the crocoseum. A nice clean show with birds, dingo, crocodile etc. Showing the animals from there best side and no stupid daredevil tricks. Just a lot of passion and love for the animals!
